A sewer scope, also known as a drain inspection, is a diagnostic tool that is used to inspect the inside of a home’s sewer lines. It typically consists of a small camera mounted on the end of a flexible, waterproof rod. The rod is inserted into the sewer lines through a cleanout or other access point, and the camera transmits a live video feed to a monitor. This allows the inspector to see the inside of the sewer lines and identify any problems, such as blockages, cracks, or tree roots. A sewer scope can be a useful tool for detecting problems with the sewer system that may not be visible to the naked eye.
